Respectful support for our elders.
At Sahan Community Network, we help seniors get the support they need to live independently and access what they are entitled to. Many of the seniors we serve face language barriers, limited digital access, or simply do not know where to turn. We meet them where they are, often in their own homes.
What We Help With
• Home visits for seniors who cannot travel to our office
•Benefits applications, including Old Age Security (OAS), the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), and the Canada Pension Plan (CPP), with follow-up when applications are delayed or returned
•Government letters and notices explained in plain language, including CRA notices, jury duty summons, and housing letters
•Tax filing support, since filing taxes is often the first step to receiving benefits
•Translation and document help for seniors who cannot complete forms in English on their own
•Landlord-tenant support, including help resolving disputes with housing providers such as Toronto Community Housing
•Power of Attorney assistance, for seniors planning ahead for their property or personal care
•Protection from financial abuse and scams, through plain-language guidance on common tactics used to exploit isolated seniors
